Best of Bands in Tucson on Wedding Wire

Mariachi Tesoro de Tucson is a mariachi group consisting of fourteen children, ages 10 through 15 years operating under the non-profit organization Mariachi Nueva Generación, Inc. Jaime Valenzuela is the musical director. The musicians practice together four hours per week, in addition to private lessons and practice with their school mariachi groups and participate in the annual Tucson International Mariachi Conference. These experiences benefit these young musicians by providing music education and immersion in the cultural heritage of mariachi music.

Mariachi Tesoro de Tucson started performing as a group in August 2006.  In their first year, Tesoro performed at many events and paid performances. Every year since Tesoro's inception, the musicians have attended the Tucson International Mariachi Conference and participated in the Student Showcase. Find out more about the Conference. In 2007, Mariachi Tesoro won first place in the San Antonio Competition.
